Visiting Irish jockey Amy Jo Hayes gave Lady Ducati a polished one-out, one-back ride to win the Goldfields Pest Control Hcp (1300m) at Kalgoorlie last Sunday.

Hayes is here for three months during the northern winter and, despite a cosy cart in running, it wasn’t all plain sailing aboard Lady Ducati.  She wobbled around the corner before balancing up and letting down to score by a half-length from Fiendish (Panzer Division).

Lady Ducati is a 4yo daughter of Ridgeport Farm stallion Ducimus and is the first winner for her dam Miss Wild (Gingerbread Man).  Second-dam Lady Wild (Wild Harmony) won a LR Beaufine Stakes (1000m) in 2001 when ridden by Alana Williams.

Port Kennedy trainer Sharon Miller bought her for $30,000 from Alwyn Park (as agent) at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions and she also manages the large syndicate that raced her to a Narrogin maiden win before a transfer to Neil Dellar in Kalgoorlie.

“We sent Lady Ducati up to Neil last month and that win was encouraging,” Miller said.  “She has shown us ability but was a bit timid.  And she was back on a Good surface after racing on Soft tracks at Belmont.”

Dellar will nominate Lady Ducati for the final meeting of the Kalgoorlie season next Saturday, November 2 prior to a return to the coast where her stablemates include recent Ducimus city winner Like No Other.

Miller likes the breed and bought Like No Other for another large ownership group that includes Rivercrest Farm breeder Steve Hoare.  Rivercrest also bred and sold his 2yo Ducimus full-sister to Neville Parnham and she has been named Duopoly.

Ducimus (Snitzel) stands for a $5,500 fee alongside Rommel ($6,600) at Ridgeport Farn in Waroona.  Fees (inc GST).  For bookings or more information, contact Marge Ojapold (0497 478 231), Grant Burns (0410 683 470), Steve Hoare (0409 987 970).

Hoofnote:  Sharon Miller has just retired her Rommel 4yo mare Miss Boudica.  She would suit a show ring and would excel with a young adult or experienced rider.  https://www.facebook.com/sharonmillerracing/
