Snowdome confirmed he will be the summer spearhead for Ridgeport Farm sire Rommel following a tough first-up victory in the G3 Prince Of Wales Stakes (1000m) at Ascot.

The 4yo sprinter went into Saturday’s race without the benefit of a barrier trial with trainer Neville Parnham reporting his recent track gallops were off the charts.  “He never gets really gross and he’s back bigger and stronger.

“I think there’s more to come from a horse like him and he will go straight to the G1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) next month.  I would also like to take him east for the autumn carnival in Sydney.”

Snowdome did it the hard way outside Man Crush (Manhattan Rain) in the Prince Of Wales before nailing the leader by a short-head on the line for Chris Parnham.  Short-priced favourite Red Can Man (Gingerbread Man) filled out the minors a length away third.

He won his first Group 3 in last year’s WA Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) and was narrowly beaten in the LR Belgravia Stakes (1200m) by Amelia’s Jewel (Siyouni).

Snowdome (4h Rommel – Snow Pixie by Snitzel) was bred by Ridgeport Farm owner Santo Guagliardo and sold through Mogumber Park (as agent) for $180,000 at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions.

Guagliardo kept a share with Parnham and his long-time stable clients Bob Pearson and Mike Fagan.  They’re already well in front dividing up prizemoney of $777,435 that includes Westspeed Bonuses of $236,500

Snowdome’s older full-sister Pixie Chix won the RL Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy (1200m) at Pinjarra in  2021 but died in April.  His younger half-brother Snow Prince (Safeguard) was an Ascot winner on debut in January and followed up with black-type placings in the RL Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) and LR Perth Stakes (1100m).

Parnham and Guagliardo also have Rommel’s Goddess ready to resume after a one-length win in a Belmont 1000m barrier trial on Monday morning.  The 3yo filly wasn’t sighted at her only start during a winter prep.

Rommel’s Goddess was bred by Mogumber Park and is the first foal of Cashere Miss (Dash For Cash) who is a half-sister to LR Redelva Stakes (1050m) winner Desert Lashes (Reward For Effort).  The mare has a yearling colt by Rommel and foaled a Safeguard filly last month.

Ridgeport Farm stands Rommel (Commands) for a $6,600 service fee (inc GST) at Waroona.  For bookings or further information, call Santo Guagliardo (0419 948 046) or Marge Ojapold (0497 478 231).
