King’s Troop is building a strong strike-rate with his new-season 4yo crop ahead of his first book at Roselee Park in Serpentine.

His debutant Patron Of Kings was successful in the Amelia Park Maiden (1200m) at Belmont on Wednesday after winning three trials for Gangemi Racing.  The promising 4yo was angled into clear running approaching the home turn by Jarrad Noske to score by three lengths from the favourite Biondi Plunge (Bondi).

From limited numbers, King’s Troop’s 2019 foal crop has produced 8 individual winners from 11 starters.

All The King’s Men leads that division with Listed wins in the Bunbury Breeders Classic (1400m) and Lex Piper Stakes (1600m) earlier this year for trainer Trevor Andrews.

He resumed with a two-length second to grey flyer Nowhiteflag in a 1000m Belmont trial last month.

“Patron Of Kings (Photo / Western Racepix) is not without ability but has been a handful 24/7 from Day 1,” co-trainer Chris Gangemi said.

“And we have Dion Luciani to thank for doing all the barrier practice with him.

“I was always confident in running today and it was a great ride from Jarrad.  He decided to stay here instead of going up to ride the winner (Apple Schnapps) of the Broome Sprint yesterday.”

His older full-brother Serviceman has won at Pinjarra and Belmont for Bob McPherson.  They’re the final foals of Salavat (Soviet Lad) who won a half-dozen Perth sprints for Bob Turrell and is closely related to the Peters Investments homebreds Graceful Girl (G1 Winterbottom Stake) and Respondent (G2 WATC Derby).

Gangemi Thoroughbreds owns King’s Troop and he will stand for an introductory $4,400 (inc GST) service fee with Wayne and Tracy Rodwell at Roselee Park this season.  The son of Redoute’s Choice has time on his side as an 11-year-old.

King’s Troop is a three-quarter brother to Snitzel and his dam is a half-sister to Hinchinbrook.  He inherited that precocity blitzing a Warwick Farm 2yo sprint and followed up with a half-length second in the G3 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill.
