A Lot (USA) sired his first winner since news of his relocation to Westbury Park was announced when Warralea Diamond ran away with the Kenny Dawson Maiden (1500m) at Albany on Friday.
Starting a prohibitive $1.20 favourite, he was given the run of the race behind stablemate Hans Christian (I’m All The Talk) before Jarrad Noske hooked him wide for well-deserved breakthrough.
Warralea Diamond, who had been placed at his previous three starts around Percy Spencer Racecourse, led home a quinella for trainer Steve Wolfe. “We’ve had to be fairly patient but it all came together today,” Wolfe said. “He stretched out and it was a decisive victory.”
Willaview Park, who stood A Lot (USA) until this year, sold the promising 3yo (as agent) for $65,000 at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions to Commercial Bloodstock Services acting on behalf of Warralea Racing’s Jarrod King. Warralea Diamond was bred by Mungrup Stud and had been pin-hooked for $35,000 by High Street Investments at the Mungrup Dispersal Sale in August 2020.

His dam Shining Jewel (Canny Lad) is an unraced daughter of NZ-bred G2 Sir Tristram Fillies Classic winner My Tusker (Volksraad) and she has also foaled the Perth winners Golgotha (Street Cry) and Aztec Gold (I’m All The Talk).
A Lot (Tapit) started stud life at a $5,500 fee and the immediate success of his first two crops has seen that rise to $9,350 for his first book at Westbury Park. Westbury Park’s other resident My Admiration (Encosta de Lago) sired Baracap to a last-to-first victory over 2000m at Pinjarra on Thursday.
With stamina to spare, she had won a Belmont maiden over the same trip last month for trainer David Harrison and owner Kristy Wardle. Baracap is the first foal from Brisanto (My Atacanta) and she was also prepared by Harrison for a running double at Ascot in March 2016. Second-dam Attractions (Scenic) landed the LR Farnley Stakes for trainer George Daly in 2006.
