Peters Investments bred its 8th black-type win this season when London’s Image led at every panel in the LR WA Breeders’ Classic (1200m) at Bunbury on Sunday.
London’s Image (Photo / Western Racepix) also doubled her tally at Listed level following a Burgess Queen Stakes (1400m) victory at Ascot in November. Her overall career card has now improved to 5 wins in 14 starts with earnings over $410,000 for owner-trainer Ryan Hill.
Bob and Sandra Peters bred the in-form 3yo filly using Headwater (Exceed And Excel) over New Image (More Than Ready) who was a Listed winner of the 2010 Belmont Oaks (2000m) and 2011 Matchmaker Classic (1400m) in their cerise and white silks.
Hill will set her for another feature race in the $250,000 Magic Millions 3YO Trophy (1200m) at Pinjarra on February 15.
“Every time she goes around, she gives her all,” Hill told RWWA following the three-quarter length victory over Ron’s Finalflutter (Written Tycoon).
“She pulls up and bounces out of her runs and is just a tough filly. “She can be hard work at home but I know what she can do on raceday.
“It’s another great result and the black-type is massive for her as a broodmare.”
Hill budgeted $100,000 to buy London’s Image as a yearling at the 2023 Adelaide Magic Millions but got her for a bargain-basement $20,000. She was part of the Holbrook Stud consignment and was offered (as agent) for Peters Investments.
“She’s been super for our stable even though she can be hard work at times,” he said. “She deserves a break and we will make plans for this year after the Magic Millions Trophy.”
Peters Investments commenced a winning weekend at Ascot on Saturday with Royal Splendour (Pierro) in the Quayclean Hcp (1800m) and doubled up on Sunday at Bunbury with Antique Queen (Pierro) in the TABtouch Hcp (2200m). Peters Investments leads WA Breeders for black-type wins this season (8) ahead of Namerik Thoroughbreds (2), Alwyn Park (2), Yarradale Stud (2), Korilya Stud (2) and Williams Racing (2).
