Nuimara Farm owner Keith Reeves celebrated a third winner in a week when he bred Bondi Bay (Bondi) and Argyle Star (Blackfriars) to double up at Pinjarra last Thursday.

They followed Jiddo (God Has Spoken) who had won the TC Corporate Maiden (2000m) the previous Thursday at Bunbury for Reeves who also trains him at Boyanup for part-owner Mazzin Kaddoura.

Bondi Bay (Photo / Western Racepix) was the first winner of the new term for Lynward Park stallion Bondi (Snitzel) following a breakout season in 2023-24.  He travelled in clear running for Troy Turner and then took advantage of a wide bias in the straight to defeat the Peters Investments pair of Arcadia Park (Ocean Park) and Pharoah Show (American Pharoah).

“He’s a beautiful boy and ran a great race,” trainer Sharon Miller noted.  “He takes everything in his stride and we’re looking forward to his career.”

Bondi Bay (3g Bondi – Bellay by Al Samer) was a $42,500 buy out of the Nuimara Farm consignment to the 2023 Perth Magic Millions.

He’s from a Bob McPherson-trained Bunbury and Northam winner and the family goes back to G1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) heroine Belle Du Jour (Dehere).

Reeves struck again on the Scarpside circuit with his Blackfriars mare Argyle Star in the State Wide Turf Services Maiden (1600m).  She was giving the leader Psychic Session (Sessions) the best part of 10 lengths out of the back straight before Chris Parnham angled to the grandstand rail for an unimpeded run to the line.

Argyle Star is an older three-quarter sister to Jiddo and Reeves bred them from Princess Yarra (Husson Lightning) who is a half-sister to Kerrific (Blackfriars).  He won a G3 Belmont Sprint and G3 R J Peters Stakes for Mazzin Kaddoura in 2013.

Princess Yarra’s final foal is a 2yo son of God Has Spoken (Blackfriars) who stands at Rivercrest Farm for a $3,300 (inc GST) service fee.
