Soso Lucky is Saturday-bound after winning against track bias in the Peninsula Dining Room Hcp (1300m) during the latest midweek meeting at Belmont.

The Pearce Racing 4yo had won her maiden on debut at Bunbury last month and her owner-breeders Brad and Nikki McGinty had Chris Parnham to thank for a successful step straight into Class 3 company.

Parnham walked the track and decided to remain on the fence from an inside draw.  “I thought it was an option after all the rain and the amount of racing we’ve had here at Belmont recently.  We followed the cutaway and she did the rest.  She a very nice type and can go through the grades.”

Soso Lucky (Photo / Western Racepix) is a daughter of Lean Mean Machine (Zoustar) who stands at Aquis Farm in Queensland.

Her dam Soso Ready (More Than Ready) was bred by Gerry Harvey and was a $2,250 buy for the McGintys at the 2020 Perth Magic Millions Winter Sale when offered by Mogumber Park (as agent) for Ridgeport Holdings.

Soso Lucky was passed-in at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions when offered by J Farms (as agent) and was retained in partnership by the Greenbushes-based couple with Danelle Pearce.

“She bolted in at Bunbury and that was an equally-impressive performance at Belmont,” Pearce Racing reported.  “She worked through her gears on straightening and pulled away over the late stages to defeat Village Girl (Universal Ruler) by more than two lengths.”
