Yarradale Stud graduate Little Silver made the most of a slow tempo to stave off the late challenge of odds-on favourite Kings Salute to win the TABtouch Hcp (1500m) at Pinjarra on Wednesday.

Longshot Mong Khan and 3kg claimer Chanel Cooper stacked them up and Paul Harvey was content to sit outside the leader with a lapful of horse down the back.  There was plenty left in the tank when ‘The Pontiff’ went for home in the straight although the margin was whittled down to a nose by the time they hit the line.

Little Silver (Photo / Western Racepix) completed a Yarradale double for Harvey and trainer Steve Wolfe following the win of Ginger Green (Gingerbread Man) at Belmont last Saturday.

He cost $40,000 at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions and has earned over $122,000 for a partnership that includes Yarradale and Wolfe’s wife Maureen.

His dam Platinum Power (Commands) was a Mornington winner in Yarradale’s colours and she has a yearling filly by Astern that was purchased by Tom Wolfe for $40,000 at the Perth Magic Millions in February.

It’s the immediate family of Stakes winners Lady Chant (War Chant) and Lamasery (Commands).  Yarradale owner Lyn Sayers has a Sessions filly foal from Platinum Power and bred the mare back to Darling View Thoroughbreds first-season sire Lightsaber (Zoustar) last November.

Gingerbread Man (Shamardal) stands at Yarradale for a $5,500 (inc GST) service fee.  Stud manager Davy Hanratty can be contacted for further details on (08) 9574 6490 or 0429 326 904.
