The first reported foal by Geisel Park sire Aysar has arrived at Gold Front Thoroughbreds.
Aysar covered 89 mares in his first book at Geisel Park last year and the colt from Lady Sass (Unencumbered) was born on Sunday night. His dam doubled up at Ascot in February 2019 for Gold Front owners Alan and Sue Olive and just missed black-type when fourth home in that year’s G2 WATC Derby (2400m) won by Regal Power (Pierro).
“He’s a gorgeous, strong colt,” Gold Front manager Naomi Montuolo reported and Geisel Park owner Eddie Rigg concurred. “He’s a cracker and what a set of shoulders!”
Rigg is giving Aysar every chance at stud. Just last week he purchased LR Challenge Stakes (1400m) winner Feels Playful (Playing God) off the track for $80,000 at the Inglis July (Late) Digital Sale and declared her maiden cover will be to Aysar in September.
Aysar is a son of Champion sire Deep Field and he lived up to a blueblood pedigree with a Listed victory in the MVRC Chautauqua Stakes (1200m) in a career that also included a close second to Ole Kirk in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).
He’s a half-brother Home Affairs (I Am Invincible) who completed a Group 1 double in 2021 VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) and 2022 VRC Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington. And their dam Miss Interiors (Flying Spur) is a half-sister to instant stud success Russian Revolution (Snitzel).
“Aysar was the best credentialed sire prospect to cross my desk in the last 10 years or more,” leading bloodstock agent John Chalmers said after clinching the deal in March 2023. “He represents a rare opportunity on all fronts and will suit most mares in Western Australia.”
Geisel Park stands Aysar ($8,800) alongside Winning Rupert ($8,800), Manhattan Rain ($8,250) and All American ($4,400). All fees (inc GST). For bookings or further information, contact stud manager Conor Dunlop on 0447 434 735.
