Leading trainer Neville Parnham and Ridgeport Holdings owner Santo Guagliardo led WA buyers during Book 1 of the Magic Millions Yearling Sale with a bid of $280,000 for the Hellbent colt from Perth Stakes winner Private Dancer (Oratorio).
Offered by Yarraman Park as Lot 60 on Day 1, the colt (pictured) was the first of 11 yearlings heading west for a total spend of $1.59 million.
Hellbent (Invincible Spirit) stands alongside his champion sire at Yarraman Park and his Mungrup Stud-bred dam Private Dancer won a LR Challenge Stakes (1500m) at Ascot for trainer Trevor Andrews and part-owners Ken Gregson, Isaac Cohen and Ross Drage.
Private Dancer’s current 2yo Poised (I Am Invincible) cost Bluebloods Thoroughbreds $400,000 at last year’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. She is being trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott and was placed in Warwick Farm and Randwick trials in November.
Agent Adrian Hancock was next on the leaderboard with a Street Boss – Rose Pattern colt (Lot 110) on behalf of a WA client for $220,000. His 2yo half-brother Invincible Beau (Brazen Beau) finished fourth in the Ballarat Magic Millions Classic (1000m) to flying filly Arabian Summer last month and trainer Robbie Laing is setting him for the $500,000 QTIS Jewel (1200m) at Doomben in March.
