Playing God filly Yallingup Girl led home a trifecta for Darling View Thoroughbreds after receiving all the favours to win her maiden at Belmont on Wednesday.

The Neville Parnham-trained 3yo followed the speed into the straight before Chris Parnham used the cutaway to defeat God’s Garden (Playing God) and her stablemate Scenery (Zoustar) who was bred and sold by Darling View’s Clive Atwell.

Yallingup Girl (3f Playing God – Salsify by Grand Lodge) had been flushed out to the four-wide line at her previous outing a fortnight ago and had nothing left in the tank when tackled by Cavallo Red.

“The good gate helped today and it was a sweet ride by Chris,” Parnham said.  “It’s her first campaign so she will go to the paddock now and fill out.

“She’s got ability and has a future.  She’s almost there physically and will toughen up mentally.”

Yallingup Girl (Photo / Western Racepix) is the final foal from Salsify and the best of her 10 winners to date has been 2018 Queensland Guineas winner Salsonic (Hinchinbrook).

Their dam had been purchased for $47,500 by Gervase Park at the Magic Millions National Sale a year prior that Group 2.

Gervase Park sold Yallingup Girl to Peter Diamond for $60,000 at the 2021 Perth Magic Millions.  Diamond has also supported Playing God as a breeder and vendor.  He sold the sire’s top-priced yearling on record when receiving $330,000 for the colt out of G3 WA Oaks winner Moodometer at the 2022 Perth Magic Millions.

He’s named Best Mood and is yet to face the starter for Peters Investments.  Moodometer foaled a Playing God filly for Diamond last year and she was bred back to him on a late cover in December.

Gervase Park’s Chris and Andrea Gales doubled up with the Darling View roster on Wednesday when their Magic Millions graduate Swim Through (Patronize) won the Furphy Hcp (1000m) at Belmont.

Playing God sired his 18th individual 3yo winner this season when Collective claimed the Crown Prosecutor Maiden (1300m) at Northam on Thursday.  Another promising filly prepared by Parnham, she flew home from last to score by more than two lengths under Laqdar Ramoly.

Parnham races Collective in partnership with Yarradale Stud and they also bred her dam Edition (Duporth) who is a half-sister to Malibu Style (Magnus).  He was a four-time Stakes-winning sprinter for the Parnham stable in Perth and Melbourne.

Playing God (Blackfriars) is set to cover his biggest book at Darling View Thoroughbreds where stands for a $33,000 fee with Splintex ($11,000) and Lightsaber ($6,600).  All fees (inc GST).
