A Lot (USA) will benefit from the roll-on effect to his stud career after Shezgotthalot scored a barnstorming win on debut at York on Thursday.
The incoming Westbury Park stallion has sired 12 individual winners off small books in his first two crops led by Stakes performers Costume Party and Alotofbanter. And a serious response by broodmare owners was the catalyst for Willaview Park’s Claire Williamson to maximize his potential closer to Perth.
News of the A Lot relocation from the Great Southern has already made a difference with Westbury Park’s Phil Ibbotson fielding calls before the horse has even arrived. A Lot’s service fee for his first book in West Pinjarra has been set at $9,350 (inc GST).
“The response has been excellent with multiple bookings from breeders now on board without the travel,” he said. “He will float up after the Magic Millions National Sale.”
Shezgotthalot (Photo / Western Racepix) won the Past The Post Maiden (1100m) on Thursday for trainer Todd Harvey and owner-breeders Hyden & David Borger.
“She made a run right down the outside to win with ease,” Harvey reported. “She looks a nice filly in the making and thanks to Jade (McNaught) who got the job done.”
A Lot sired her from Novadarl (Shamardal) who was also prepared by Harvey to win her maiden as a spring 3yo at Ascot. She descends from a bottom-line that has produced black-type fillies like Stormy Nova (Metal Storm), La Volta (Laranto) and Priority Road (Zvornik) going back generations in Perth.
Ä Lot won two stakes sprints in New York and was denied a Group 1 when protesting unsuccessfully against Tourist in the Fourstardave Hcp at Saratoga. His sire Tapit stands at Gainesway Farm in Kentucky for a $185,000 fee after winning Champion USA/Canadian sires’ premierships in 2014, 2015 & 2016.
Tapit’s latest star Flightline was crowned 2022 World’s Best Racehorse in January with a historic rating of 140. He set that mark winning the G1 Pacific Classic Stakes (2000m) at Del Mar by 19 lengths. That equalled Frankel’s benchmark rating in 2012.
